WFMW: The Car Edition

I must admit, it feels a little weird giving a tip pertaining to car maintenance. Especially when my car looks the way it does. Right now, my car is horrible. In fact, I don't think it's had a decent detail job since before Christmas. I know this because I just found an ornament Bumpo made at school tucked inside my arm rest console.

Anyway, here goes. . .

My favorite tip is to use Vaseline to condition the plastic in my car. This really comes in handy, for me, since my favorite cleaner for the inside of my car is a combination of rubbing alcohol and water. It gets everything clean, and germ free, but after a few times it does leave the cup holders, and console area looking a bit . . . dry. I read online somewhere that using Vaseline is the best way to freshen up floor mats (the plastic ones), while I don't have any plastic floor mats, I have found that this little tip works wonderfully for the plastic and dashboard in my car. This has also proven to be especially helpful in the hot Florida sun. While the rest of my car may currently be in shambles, my dash sparkles.

I apply it just like I do wax. Dip a corner of your rag into the jar of Vaseline, wipe it on, then, using a clean rag, wipe it off.

It leaves a beautiful shine, and if done the right way isn't greasy either.

This I will have to try...some of those cleaners are so ridiculously expensive. Thanks bunches!
