Damn Rat Bastards

Imagine my surprise this morning when I woke up with 121 e-mails in my inbox. All, anonymous and all comments for my blog.

At first I was so excited, someone was actually reading this thing! Although I'm not here for other people, it's nice to know when someone does read this, and thinks enough of it to leave a comment.

Then, I started looking through the e-mails and noticed that every single one of the darn things was spam. You know the ones I'm talking about. The posts that start out like "Oh you have such a great site, you are so much better than most I've come across, blah, blah blah." And it's always on a post that doesn't quite fit the comment. (for example, someone wrote about how much they loved my site, and how upbeat I was, on the post where I ranted about one thing or another) Then you notice the discreet little >> under the darn post.

It took a little bit of time, and some updates to the site, but I think I've gotten all 121 of the darn bitches, and hopefully have prevented it from happening again.
